The Song School fund offers financial support to children and young people from low-income households to join The Song School.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW CAN MY CHILD/YOUNG PERSON ACCESS FINANCIAL SUPPORT?
We can offer free or subsidised places at The Song School for children and young people from low-income families for all group sessions, subject to availability.
Free places - for children from households with a total income of *£30,000 or less.
Subsidised places - for children from households with a total income of £30k - £45k. We offer a percentage discount, based on factors including; number of siblings, single parent structure and caring responsibilities.
Discounted rate - for children from households with a total income of £45k - £60k.
HOW MUCH SUPPORT WILL I GET?
The above structure will also apply to our half term and school holiday programmes. For example, if they are offered a free place in regular weekly sessions, they will also have access to free places on our School Holiday workshop programmes.
WHEN CAN I APPLY?
We can take applications all year round, providing there is funding available. The fund is limited and awards are made on a first come, first serve basis.
Once your child has been in for an initial class trial (free for all), you will be asked to complete a short application form for assessment by our partners and executive board. Here, we ask you to provide evidence of your income to support your application.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I HAVE COMPLETED MY APPLICATION?
If your child is offered support you will be asked to complete and sign a copy of our financial support charter.
WHAT evidence CAN I PROVIDE TO SUPPORT MY APPLICATION?
Universal Credit statement (which you can request through your online account with Universal Credit. Click here to read how)
AND/OR
A copy of your most recent bank statement
Your most recent payslip
