Announcement: The Song School CIC!
We’ve been exceptionally busy behind the scenes over the past few months making a fundamental change to the way we are structured as an organisation and we are now in a position to let you know that The Song School is now officially a Not-for-profit.
Why?!
Why have we done this, we hear you all ask!
We already work very closely with local charity Ewan’s Music Trust to provide our bursary programme for children from low income families: there’s never been a greater need to provide this kind of support and this change helps us do more.
Having not-for-profit status allows us to access funding to develop our ideas and projects faster, grow and develop our staff, and develop our spaces so that ALL musical children and young people in the area can access it.
How can I help?
If your child attends classes or workshops, you already are! Every penny we receive for class fees is reinvested in the organisation. Meaning more programmes and classes, more instruments to play at The Song School, and the ongoing development of the space at Alexandra Street.
This year alone, this has enabled us to provide more instrument coaching with two new guitar classes and drum lessons.
