It's farewell, not Goodbye!
Hi Everybody, Emily here.
Today officially marks the last day of my placement at The Song School, before I return to the University of Surrey to complete my final year studying Business Management.
I became a member of The Song School in 2017 and only left when it was time for me to depart to University in 2022. Leaving all the friends and memories behind was really hard for me so when I got the chance to come back for a year I was overjoyed! As soon as I stepped back into the building, it felt like nothing had changed.
Working as Communications Assistant, I was the key contact for parents and stakeholders, and also managed events, inquiries, and social media. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills I have developed during the first two years of my degree, to real world marketing and management. One of my favourite parts of this year has been assisting Flo with weekly Mini Pops classes. Being able to pass on skills that I have from my years of singing lessons at The Song School was really a full circle moment and I loved every bit of it! Sometimes it was hard to keep me in the office as I was eager to get out to events, help out in classes, take young people busking and more - this has truly highlighted to me that I have a passion for events and will be looking to find a graduate job in this area. This experience has contributed significantly to my own personal and professional growth.
Thank you to all of my colleagues, and everyone who supported me along this journey.
